You said it mike. I took a lot of pictures when we would go fishing in the

middle of the night. Half of the pictures look really blurry but it was just

from the swarms of bugs between the camera and subject. Especially the

mosquitoes.

I can believe it about the swarms.

It's fun to joke about the nasty little critters, but the reality of

it in the Arctic interior is that they are so thick they can

literally kill you if you don't have adequate bite resistant

clothing or spray. Part of the Arctic survival training that Chevron

put me through was that if you were stranded in the open in the

interior without adequate protection, you wouldn't last 24 hours

because of the skeeters and no-see-ums. But the thing I could never

adjust to up there about the skeeter bites was that they didn't

itch - they hurt!
