Half of the pictures look really blurry but it was just from the swarms of bugs between the camera and subject. Especially the mosquitoes. It's fun to joke about the nasty little critters, but the reality of it in the Arctic interior is that they are so thick they can literally kill you if you don't have adequate bite resistant clothing or spray. Part of the Arctic survival training that Chevron put me through was that if you were stranded in the open in the interior without adequate protection, you wouldn't last 24 hours because of the skeeters and no-see-ums.
