Hi Helen,

I can completely identify with the tales you told of people treating

you like a young child - I still get that at 28 though! One of my

Mum's friends had a lovely conversation with my one afternoon in out

village store, then on meeting my mother next congratulated her on

having such an articulate teenager!! I think I was about 26 at the

time!!

Many people still ask my if I'm at school or college when they meet

me and I'm often asked if I'm old enough to do or buy things - I was

even asked for age ID when putting on our lottery which has an age

limit of over 16 years old!! By far the funniest though was when I

began work at an Arabian Stud farm and we were all invited to the

local Arabian Horse Racing Meeting. I was 22 at the time but my

rather cheeky boss, walked up to the window and proclaimed two

tickets for us please and I presume my daughter here will get in

free? With not a flinch I was passed through as my boss's twelve year

old child!!! Talk about the Oil of Olay, I'd just lost 10 years of my

life...lol

I still get treated a lot younger than I am, I'm forever getting

asked out by 16 years olds! I too am only little 5ft on a good day,

so that probably makes it even worse like you say. I just know that

if ever I find a guy mad enough to actually marry me, I'll be accused

of having a sugar daddy even if he's younger than me!! Most people

think it is wonderful that I don't look my age, but I do get annoyed

about it at times, especially when people tend to treat me as a child

still.

I've heard very conflicting views on aging and EDS, some people

saying that similar to us they look younger and others reports of how

it makes you age prematurely. I'd always assumed that the extra

collagen worked like all those expensive beauty treatments you see

people paying for and helped the skin look younger? Anyone have any

theories or articles on either situation?

Anyway, thank for sharing your funny stories Helen, it's always great

to meet another age defying pal ;-)

Love and hugs....Jo xx
