Guest guest
Had the 2nd treatment in Pasadena last Friday at Dr. 's office. If I'm not mistaken the treatments were 570, 34 Joules (32 last month). Double-pass, triple-pulse on the second pass. The technician suggested we skip the V-Beam this time because my skin became quite red after the Photoderm, and very blotchy. There was quite a bit of redness for the first several hours after the treatment with slight swelling. Used a light application of DesOwen lotion per the doctor to reduce the swelling and the next day my skin looked fine. Today it looks fine too. Blotchiness is mostly gone. I'm extremely pleased with the results so far. Could just be a coincidence but today it looks like there is 40%-50% clearance from the redness and inflammation. This is actually my third treatment, with the first being at UCLA two months ago. But I was not impressed by their settings and protocol. Huge difference at Dr. 's office. Big difference there between last year & this year too. I mentioned Dr. Nase's book to him and he told me he had heard of it and was already having his staff order it. Said he was looking forward to reading it. Did I see in one message someone said they had their first treatment at 42 Joules? I certainly don't know much about the Photoderm machines but I could feel a fairly big difference between 32 and 34. 42 sounds way too high but I know there are other settings involved too. Dr. Nase mentions how sensitive cea skin is and how treatments should not be too aggressive, and to find the right doctor. I can see how important that is now going from one to another. I have some pictures online now if anyone cares to see them. One taken on June 1 and one taken this morning (Sunday). My skin was rather volatile after the first two treatments but seems to be doing better now. Last treatment was just two days ago, no bruising and no flaring. The picture taken June 1 is pretty typical of how it looked on most days although some days were better for some reason. My cea has been mostly vascular but papules/pustules had been developing over the last 4-5 months. Minocycline started again about 30 days ago has cleared that part of it. http://www.tstonramp.com/~garys/rosacea.html The third picture was taken at work just for fun. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing the pictures. I have been meaning to scan some of mine and post them. I need to do this quickly. I am having my 3rd photoderm this weekend, and although I know I am not as bad as I was in Nov, 2000, I would like some proof.
