We got 500mL of Lantus and 100 test strips. How does everyone afford this? Hi Sheri, You may want to see if your insurance is cheaper when using a mail order pharmacy. We pay $35 for a 30 day supply of meds or we can do the mail order and pay $40 for a 3 month supply. What part of VA do you live? I live near Lynchburg. hugs Eunice

Guest guest
Let's see Lantus when I paid for it myself was $60. Test strips paid for by me for 100 would be around $100. So it sounds like your insurance is not really covering something. You should check and make sure about what they cover. Something doesn't sound right with what they paid. Could be the diagnosis code the dr sent in. >He has Southern Health insurance and >even with that just the insulin and test strips were $125.00 when we >got our first refill the other day! Guest guest
I would check with the insurance company. I need to submit a claim to get reimbursed for the test strips...it's covered under the medical plan not under the prescription plan. Guest guest
Hi Eunice, I'm in Staunton so not too far from you. I will check on mail order. The only brand Southern Health recognizes is the One Touch so we don't even have a choice as to what we use. ~Sheri
