Guest guest
I do not like crystal light. I gives me headaches. I stick to SF koolaid. My Walmart stopped carrying them but I found them at a target. I also take regular koolaid packet, then I add splenda instead of sugar. It works!! Guest guest
I have a rain check from Meijer entitling me to 25 boxes (with four packs each in them) of sugar free Kool-aid for $1 a box. It would be a relatively simple matter to put a one in front of that 25 and liquidate a store's stock. From what I've seen lately they usually have in the neighborhood of 50-100 boxes on the shelves. I think they only stock lemonade, cherry and tropical punch flavors though. Let me know if you'd like me to see about getting a case or something of that stuff in a particular flavor and I'll see what I can do. I have an awful lot of the stuff left from when it was on sale though. Just out of curiosity, maybe can answer this chemistryish question, why would sugar free kool-aid packages have an expiration date? I think it was something like 12-18 months from when I bought the stuff or something close to that. What exactly goes bad in those packages? Maybe it's just a marketing ploy to get you to buy more and not just stock up for a decade? Guest guest
WOW $1.00 a box!! That is a deal!! It is almost $4.00 a box and nobody carries it. I only have cherry flavor. Thanks for the offer to ship me some, that is VERY sweet of you. It is okay though when I can't find the SF I can always use the reg packs and mix splenda with it. Guest guest
I have a solution to that! LOL! Disney has come out w/ a food line at Kroger. They have a fruit punch that is to die for and is clear!!! :-) No more red lips & tongue! Guest guest
I'm not sure about the stability of the aspartame in those drinks. I can't tolerate it even in small amounts so I just stay away. I found this at Wikipedia: " Like many other peptides, aspartame may hydrolyze (break down) into its constituent amino acids under conditions of elevated temperature or high pH. This makes aspartame undesirable as a baking sweetener, and prone to degradation in products hosting a high-pH, as required for a long shelf life. Aspartame's stability under heating can be improved to some extent by encasing it in fats or in maltodextrin. Aspartame's stability when dissolved in water depends markedly on pH. At room temperature, it is most stable at pH 4.3, where its half-life is nearly 300 days. At pH 7, however, its half-life is only a few days. Most soft-drinks have a pH between 3 and 5, where aspartame is reasonably stable. " Kool aid has citric acid in it but it also has potassium citrate to control the acidity so I'm not sure about the pH. If I had some I'd test it at work. in MI > > > > > > > > It is really good stuff and the orange flavor is to die for > > because > > > it > > > > really tastes very close to orange juice. > > > > Lin > > > > Lhsh@ > > > > American by birth, > > > > Saved by the grace of God. > > > > > > > > Crystal Light > > > > > > > > > > > > http://www.discountcoffee.com/CrystalLightLemonade.htm > > > > > > > > > > > > Someone in another group I'm on posted a link to this site. > They > > > sell > > > > the crystal light singles in bulk. Guest guest
Hi, they have the Wylers brand at Wal Greens. It comes in Lemonade and Raspberry Ice. You get 8 packets that mix into a 16.9 oz bottle of water for $1.00. This is the best price I have seen for the singles. I did get the sugar free Hawaiian Punch singles at Wal Greens on clearance for 50 cents a box one time but they only had 3 boxes. Try your Wal Greens, maybe they have some at stores near you. It was a couple weeks ago and I am in the Hemet, CA area. Bye M

Guest guest
For clarification the boxes of sugar free Kool-aid I was talking about for $1 contain four packages that let you make 2 quarts of kool- aid each. They're not the individual package things. While I do have some of these for trips and I occasionally use them for walks the idea of paying for a bottle of water AND paying for flavoring for it when I'm around the house versus just filling a couple of bottles from a pitcher in the fridge doesn't make sense. Guest guest
I drink Crystal light because they have Splenda, or sucrolose instead of aspartame. They have found Splenda is much more stable at higher temps than Aspartame, and tastes much better. I am sure it causes cancer in lab rats, just like everything else, at least at the equivilents of 800 sodas a day but there are trade offs to everything. I figure we would have died from renal failure at that rate, long before cancer set in:) I love the Crystal Light Tangerine/Strawberry blend. I had to remind myself several times it was " diet " . And oh.. I tried the stackers Protien Water... and will never do so again. I cannot even describe the taste. Between the horrible sour artificial grape and the strange chemical/grainy taste I don't think I could get a whole one down. So, I continue mixing my protien with decaf, and Crystal Light. Guest guest
I really like the Krystal Lite pink lemonade. It has a wonderful taste and most of them you cannot even tell that they are a diet drink. Lhsh@... American by birth, Saved by the grace of God. Guest guest
Yeesh that's not a rousing endorsement of the protein water. Maybe I'll try the Special K for the hell of it. It has unnecessary sugar though. I don't think that's wise/good for me to even try really. > > > > > > > > > > It is really good stuff and the orange flavor is to die for > > > because > > > > it > > > > > really tastes very close to orange juice. > > > > > Lin > > > > > Lhsh@ > > > > > American by birth, > > > > > Saved by the grace of God. > > > > > > > > > > Crystal Light > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > http://www.discountcoffee.com/CrystalLightLemonade.htm > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Someone in another group I'm on posted a link to this site. > > They > > > > sell > > > > > the crystal light singles in bulk. Guest guest
I take 3 bottles of water to work every day & add my flavoring. But I use the same 3 bottles all week. I'll wash them out at night & refill them from my filtered water at the faucet. :-) I'm cheap too. I should just start making a pitcher of the flavored & filling them up that way. But I keep several flavors in my desk for various moods.
