Hi ,

It sounds like you're making the right decision! The experience of

the ortho is the key - not necessarily the brand itself. We wound

up wearing a bad fitting STARband for a few months (since there was

no CT nearby) and I WISH I could go back and do it all over again.

We now fly to LA every three weeks for our DOCband (we started at 12

months, so his growth was slower, hence less frequent

appointments). One tip - when we picked up the band we did it on a

Friday and stayed over the weekend for a fitting on Tuesday (they

don't see patients on Monday at our location). That saved us a

flight since they wanted a week 'break in' time before the first

adjustment, but were willing to allow for only 4-5 days instead.

Hopefully at 6 months you only have to go every two weeks. Good
