I just got a tube of Sy ZincO " untinted " sunscreen, put some on, and it

looks very weird. Ghostly white, like white clown makeup.

Anyone else have the same experience? I'm wondering if there was a mistake

in shipping and they sent the tinted variety (it doesnt actually say

" untinted " on the tube, not sure if it's supposed to)

Hi Bruce,

I thought the same thing when i got mine. By tinted, I think they

mean like a more brownish skin colour tone.

For people that aren't use to wearing makeup or anything that changes

the colour of their complexion, the untinted can still be noticeable

initially (the redder the face- it is usually more noticable). I

find however that after a couple hours or so it blends in well and

isn't too bad.

I still think it is 95% more appealing cosmetically than other zinc

oxide creams I have tried. They are much much more visible.

You can also " mix " it with the tinted version or some other makeup or

something to change the tint to your skintone.

No, your Sy Zinc-o doesn't sound like the tinted variety--and it

can leave a whitish appearance where you've applied it; I use some

powder over it, but if your name is Bruce, I imagine that you don't wear

actual make up....however, my husband has good luck with the tinted

Zinc-O --he is oilier skinned than I am, very ruddy, and the tinted

zinco disappears without a trace--I can't tell that he's got any

sunscreen on, using the zinco

hope this helps,

Carol

thanks for mailing. I guess I'll stick with the off-the-shelf sunblock I've

been using ( like waterproof coppertone 45, etc). Those are very effective

in reducing sun exposure, but they do look pretty greasy. But they also seem

to act like a protective barrier against whatever else it is that irritates

my skin. At the end of the day, my skin seems way less red, not dry at all,

if I've been wearing sunblock, wether or not I've been in the sun.
