I'm a bit leary about not being in their network Hi Gwen, We have to pay more if we see doctors " outside our network " , but so far all the doctors we see are in the network. All this insurance stuff is so confusing. One insurance company has meds listed at one tier, the next insurance company will have them listed at another tier. Why can't things be simple? hugs Eunice

Guest guest
I haven't gone to the webpage much. I did get claim forms from the website and normally I do that stuff at night but I don't remember. I may have done it during working hours. Hopefully they can fix all that..seems you should be able to get the online stuff at any time. Barbie _____ From: diabetes [mailto:diabetes ] On Behalf Of ERWachter@... I have been dealing with them since the first of Oct and it has been a pain. It is true, they have sent the prescriptions as ordered, they have paid medical. The problem is I want to download forms, review our records, order refills, etc on weekends or late at night and I cannot do that. hugs Eunice
Guest guest
Eunice, we've been BCBS of TN for several years. I STILL can't get signed onto Caremark. I finally called them, turns out they don't save any money, anyway. I got price quotes for ever med and we MIGHT end up saving the cost of one pill. She finally said the benefit was in having it delivered to the door. Heck, I chase 3 girls all over town every day, that won't be a benefit to me. I've found ordering from Canada to be the easiest :-) Debi

Guest guest
Sorry to hear about the insurance problems Eunice. The company we have to use for prescriptions, Medco, also requires separate ID's & passwords, but Dave & I use the same password.....so it's no problem. I do have to place orders separately though. Speaking of HIPPA.....2 years ago when I first went on blood thinner, I had to have a blood test done while I was in San Francisco visiting my son because they have to get you at the right dose & blood level. I had a medical request and letter from my doc that I took with me to the lab at UofC-San Francisco Medical Center. It specifically requested the results be faxed immediately to him so he could call me with any dosage changes. He never called me, so I called him. They never faxed it to him because of " patient privacy " . I had to go back.....after I had already filled out forms & discussed it with the lab. They still took their good old time and my doc had to call and argue with them for my test results. He finally got them 5 days later. I was furious that a nationally recognized hospital could be so inefficient and unprofessional!! I think anything to do with health.....docs, insurance companies, etc.....has gotten totally out of hand. It's why we pay such exhorbitant prices for health care. Anyway.....good luck tomorrow.....be sure to read them the riot act....LOL! Gail
Guest guest
personally, I think hippa was meant to help, but is being blown way out of proportions. My fiancee goes to EVERY dr visit with me, picks up my meds and, all that but couldnt call and even make an appointment for me. At the time, i had already signed a form to alow him to be in the room with me during the exam, but he cant call !!!! (My old dr reufsed to do this because that would violate hippa.) I also feel other business take privacy issues to far. When i had internet/cable issues and called comcast to complain I had my fiancee on the phone with me (2 handsets) because he used to be a cable tech and understands this better than me. But because i havent signed some privacy account authorization form, they wouldnt discuss my account with him....Even with me one the phone!!!!!!!What craziness! > > Sorry to hear about the insurance problems Eunice. Hi Rhonda, I was so mad at Anthem this morning that I could not even think straight. I still cannot get into the site to order 's meds. Today was a holiday for Anthem so no help there. I'll be on the phone tomorrow at 9:00. I don't think it really matters what day I put. It worked so I guess everything is okay. I was using our flex card. If the company decides to change insurance companies again next year, the card will expire Sept 30. Our insurance is from Oct 1-Sept 30. Even with all of this, I've gotten quite a bit accomplished today. Oh yes, I'm having to take care of my mom's medicines. What a headache with all these new changes. How many more days????? hugs Eunice

Guest guest
Reading the date you put, I think it is normally the last day of the month it gives that the card expires. I'm with you, though, I haven't ever seen more than month and year on the cards. When my mother was still living she had the Federal Govt High Option Blue Cross that paid for everything. There were several times I had to call them and get her bills paid. The worst problems I had were after my parents passed away, though, and it wasn't with the insurance, who paid everything. I got bills for things that had long since been paid and they kept telling me they hadn't. The city billed me for the ambulance AFTER they had been paid, and it was a hefty sum, too. I found out that they have been doing that quite a bit in Colorado. Darlene Re: Re: I need to vent about insurance - In a message dated 1/16/2006 11:08:21 A.M. So, I entered 10/01/2007 and they accepted it.
Guest guest
When I had my prescription refilled, the lady in front of me had just been accepted on Medicare/Medicaid and couldn't get her prescription because she didn't have enough money. I think they wouldn't pay any of it, because she needed to meet the deductible. Since they had accepted her, CICP would no longer cover her prescriptions. It didn't sound like a very good deal to me. (Oh, they are both under Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield in CO). Darlene Re: I need to vent about insurance - Now with this new Medicare thing coming up. who knows what's going to happen. Several letters today in the Sunday Union Tribune in San Diego from people who are suddenly haveing to pay a lot more, even without switching companies. It sounds as if a great many senior citizens are going to be going without their medicine. Or their food......Elise
Guest guest
Insurance companies are in business to make money. They have a fiduciary duty to their stockholders to maximize profits. Hence, they do not want to pay if they can avoid it. Re: Re: I need to vent about insurance - Hi Donna, If insurance companies would do what they are being paid to do and stop trying to 'play doctor', everybody would be much better off. If we pay our premiums, there so be no reason for insurance companies not to pay.
