I think I can honestly say that every single one of us has been affected by the loss of and the unknown is frightening to us. We are all human and you have created an immensely loyal and compassionate following. There just aren't the words to describe how important you are to us in our quest for a better life. We can't do it without you. We don't want to do it without you. You need to address your own needs right now and if staying busy with your work meets those needs then we are behind you. If you find you need to take it slower or take a break completely, that's ok too. We are here for you because you have been here for us. That is what this ONE LIST is for. You can find out all the info you need from the clos.net site, from people that have had the surgery or just from posting. If that doesn't work call and talk to Debbie. Despite previous mailings of opinions, Debbie is a WONDERFUL person. I have found in my experience of the past month -- that most " pre-op " information can be found on the website or the list. For example, at first I had a lot of questions about pregnancy and MGB that I initially wanted to ask of Dr. R (and did talk to him about at the clinic), but when I posted the questions on the list I received a lot of good information from post-ops (including a couple who are PREGNANT!!). However I have been emailing since March with no answers. I have labored through the web sites, and asked my questions to post ops that were willing to answer, and I have not gotten answers to my satisfaction that I have a totally warm and fuzzy over a few things. It is a bit frustrating to the pre op that only hears how wonderful and accessable this dr is, only to have email after email go unanswered. I live a few states away, so poping in for a clinic is out of the question for me. I sent and received e-mail with no problems, but for some reason the web was sending mail from my address to hers into cyberspace. I just reset my server and boom she started getting my e-mails. So come on gang lets be the " WIND BENEATH HIS WINGS " and help lift him up in this storm so the sun may once again shine and all the dark clouds past away.Let's be there for him as he's been and will continue to be for us by keeping him in our prayers and not our rifts. It is one of the hardest thngs I've seen. They work so many years to learn to treat, heal and save lives. Then it is like they forget they are human and death is not in their control and death is so difficult for many of the docs I work with. Thanks, for letting me ramble. It is one thing to lose a patient that has lived a long life, but it is always hardest to lose one that still has so many years ahead. We now have 3 trauma victims in our hospital all under 42 years of age and it is so hard to watch.. Dr. R. has my full understanding.
