Guest guest
I had to post this. I am sitting in class last night. It is very cold in there...thank goodness. So I am just my " normal " pink, no red flare on my face. I feel heat on my left thumb. I look down and my thumb is red! No where else. My hand and other fingers were white. It was like a rosacea flare on my thumb. I was not sitting on it, I did not hurt it, nothing. I found this bizarre, then I thought about the overproduction of Nitric Oxide in the bodies of ceans. Can we have a flare on our thumb? This is just too strange sometimes...and embarrassing. We were about to start lab with our partner. I was praying it went back to it's normal color. It did, after about 10 minutes or so. Oh how I wish we had a pill form of nitric oxide inhibitors to prevent this. AND tell me someone had experienced this. Thanks guys! Strange!!! Guest guest
It happens to me too. That my index finger or the palms of one of my hands get bright red and itches. I used to attribute it to eczmea but I don't get watery bumps that I get with eczema. I think you may have hit on something here with excessive NO coming to the skin's surface for some unknown reason! Take care, Matija > I had to post this. > > I am sitting in class last night. Guest guest
You may have Erythromelalgia, which is a disease that causes redness and burning in your extremities, like hands and feet. Guest guest
Just to add my two pence worth, my hands get red / blue easily too to the usual rosacea triggers. Not all of them but certainly heat / cold / alcohol. . > Thank goodness I am not alone!
Guest guest
I am 30..and my hands look worse than my mom's. Weird colors, vascular damage, something is just not right. It is like my skin is not strong enough to with stand the environment. I beat myself up for having taken accutane 3 years ago. That is when I started have irritation and redness. Though I will never know for sure. > > Plus, the skin on my hands has > > gotten rather wrinkled, like 20 years older-looking than they > should. > > Me too. Guest guest
Meg is right. The symptoms described by Kent Portman's message suggest possibility of erythromelalgia.
