-- Pain Management Doctor

Well now the time has come for me to make an appointment with Dr Gamburg at the Kingston Pain Management Center...my lawyer told me the judge wants to know the extent of the damage from the dog bite and the percentage of the loss of use and I told Joe (my lawyer) that Gamburg doesn't take Medicaid so he told me to get an appointment and tell them I'll be paying cash so I called this doctor's office, told them I need to see Gamburg, went through this whole ridiculous phone call with this woman who AFTER I told her I'll be paying cash in full up front, asked me if I had insurance, I told her not the kind you take, but I'm paying cash, she asked me what the insurance was. I told her Medicaid, she said "Well we don't take that!!" and I told her "I just TOLD you I'm paying CASH IN FULL" and then she tells me that there's gonna be a PROBLEM with me paying cash!!! I said "Excuse me? What do you MEAN there's gonna be a problem??" She tells me I have to call Gamburgs billing office down in Westchester County and set up a payment plan then I have to call Kingston Hospital's billing dept and set up the same thing!! So I called his Westchester office, talked to a really nice guy there, explained everything to this man, the lawsuit, the judge, the whole nine yards and then he asked me WHY Kingston has me calling him and I told him the Kingston won't give me an appointment until I talk to you and you're office down there has to give me the appointment... well this guy got furious!! He told me "If you're paying cash in full for evey appointment, you DON'T have to set up ANY pay schedule"..I told him that's what the woman in Kingston told me I had to do and she won't give me an appointment until I'm setup with a pay schedule..so he told me that the initial consult is $362.. I almost fell of the chair!!!! $362 just to talk to this doctor?!?!?!?! Then if Gamburg does anything else, it'll be more..so I told him ok, also told him if he wants, he can confirm everything regarding payment through my attorney and he laughed and told me that wouldn't be necessary and to call the Kingston office and ask for a half hour after I got off the phone with him..so I called my lawyer, told Joe how much the initial was, he said get the appointment and he'll get me the loan for it and I forgot to tell him it's gonna have to be for more than the $362 in case Gamburg does more than just the consult...I DID find out that Gamburg is only one of 2 fully credited doctors in pain management in NYS and he's also board certified and specializes in RSD..so now I'll have to get the court paper from my lawyer stating that the judge wants to know the loss of use and extent of the damage.. I just hope the Dr Gamburg will do this..if not, I guess I'll have to hunt down that other doctor who's board certified and fully credited...so I guess things are going in the right direction but VERY slowly..and I really don't have any patience anymore..I want this all to be over, get my settlement and then focus on my hand..

Hugs To All,

~Chrissy~
