Hi All!!!

has brought up a great point. How are you all dealing with

attention from the opposite sex?? LOL Me????? I deal with it

horribly, I ignore it. I act as if it does not exist. I'm like an old

horse with blinders on I look straight ahead and go on with my

business.

How are you dealing with it? Fess up those of you that deal with it

well I want to hear your secrets. Those of you who don't tell us why

you think you don't.

I'm not entirely sure why I don't feel comfortable with it. It isn't

as if they will bite me!! I tend to think when I was big they didn't

look at me so why are they looking at me now; I'm the same person.

I'm just in a smaller package. It makes me uncomfortable and angry at

times.

Hugs!!!!

I have been single for about 10 years.......although I have been in a couple

of long relationships, like I said its been a WHILE since I was in the

game........I feel like I don't even know what ball is being used for the

game these days, I don't even know the rules to the game or what it is

called anymore........

One thing I hate more than anything in the world........I have run into a

couple of people that I had not seen in a while, and they see how much

weight I have lost and how I am looking now........I hear those words that

just piss me off to no end.... " Im going to have to hook you up with somebody

now! " .......they are saying it in nice way and Im sure they don't mean

anything by it.....But if you really look at a statement like that, it

really says that now Im not fat I can be set up.......Like now Im only good

enough for attention from the opposite sex......I just want to choke people

when I hear that!!!!

Other than that Im doing fine with all this..............LOLOLOL.........

You're just being silly! Of course they won't bite you. I certainly

wouldn't bite you (unless you asked of course).

How do I deal with attention? I deal with it by not believing it's

happening. In fact I can sit here and type to you right now with

nearly 100% certainty that it's not going on, won't go on and is just

stupid/ignorant to think it would ever go on anytime in the future.

Assuming for just some twist of reality that it DOES happen and

there's no way I can ignore it. I'll quickly excuse it away as

something else like a blemish, gray hair, something in my teeth,

holding my fork incorrectly, or anything small that's out of place.

There's something causing this attention other than just me. It's

that simple.

Yeah now if that's not a need for at least a couple of therapy

sessions I don't know what is. Not a desperate need but certainly

room for improvement of my outlook on things.

Your mention of biting reminds me of my favorite commercial for some

reason. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7_198wnPAs

Oh Mike I so totally understand, people are total jerks with out

knowing it sometimes. For me it was WELL you have such a pretty face,

as if to say you are so darn fat but would be really pretty if you

lost weight.

Hang in there Mikey!!!! :)

I live like you described ,like I have blinders on.I don't

look at people,I always look down.I'm always ready for someone to

make fun of me or tell me how ugly I am.(it is really hard to share

this with everyone too)I was always put down & made fun of so I am

always ready for the next round to be dished out.I don't believe

that I will ever be beautiful even when the weight is gone.I give

credit for that to all who tortured me while I was growing up.I

know,I have serious issues but feel like it is too late to change my

way of thinking after 37 years.

This is why I have been a hermit in my house for the past 8 years or

so never interacting with others. Now I have no choice but to get out

because my kids are involved in school programs & Brownies &

sports, etc. plus I go to the gym on a regular basis.

The weight loss is helping me to get a little more confidence than

I've had but I have a long way to go.I know I need counceling,just

gotta push myself to deal with this hurtful part of my life.

Sorry for another heart wrenching vent everyone.

Kim,

I think that part of being a type of hermit is common. I have been kinda

like that for a long time. I feel so much better now that I have had this

surgery and I have lost so much weight......I to have to work at this and

force myself back out there....Your not alone on this one.

Kim,

I think that part of being a type of hermit is common. I have been kinda

like that for a long time. I feel so much better now that I have had this

surgery and I have lost so much weight......I to have to work at this and

force myself back out there....Your not alone on this one.

haha, yeah.. I feel you big time on this. Let's see, I have not been

in the dating game for 9 years. I was with my ex for 5 years and I don't feel

that counts as dating lol!! haha.. I am afraid I won't even know how to act if a

guy approached me and asked me out. I am so afraid I would stumble and freak out

and say no thanks or ramble or something hahaha... and if I did say yes, then

what? hahaha anyways, I am asking everyone I know what the rules are these days.

All I can do is be myself and go with the flow.

My girlfriend asked me one time what I was looking for in a man. I told her I

don't know really... I told her I don't want to be fixed up with anyone, if you

notice someone you think i might click with, just invite us to the same party

and let the rest work itself out... It has to be natural.
