Guest guest
Hi all, How much is too much Vitamin C, methionine, etc. I take 1500 mg. Vitamin C each day and it acts like a diuretic and I lose more water than I drink or at least it seems that way. I take 500 mg. of methionine but I never knew how much to take and I just took GNC's suggestion. I also take 400 U Vitamin E and the beta-carotene and selenium are in my multivitamin. I also take sublingual B 12. Is this a proper regimen? Joan

Snd they change as we learn more about the effects of vitamins on our bodies. Many medical experts advise against taking more than 500 mg each day. That's what my huband and I have been taking for years wihtout any ill effects. And we take time released tablets. One medical study found that too much C altered the balance of antioxidant effect and could create a harmful pro-oxidant effect. As you have discovered, the body excretes the excess. So you're peeing away your money with megadoses. > > This is the regimen from the Manchester Royal Infirmary in the > UK.Drug Watch: Antioxidant Therapy for Recurrent Pancreatitis > There is little to offer patients with recurrent pancreatitis in way of > treatment.
