Have any of you used Glucerna? I was wondering what it would do

before I was diagnosed and have wondered since. Does anyone know how

it is supposed to work?

I did look at a box last night and it had 26 grams of carbohydrates,

so I am not sure that is so great. It is over the amoung that I was

told for snacks.

I have days when I just don't want to eat anything so I drink the

Glucerna but the one for weight loss. Not as a snack but as the meal.

Works for me.

I do find it very handy to have around when I am going to be in a craft

class over eating time or perhaps out about and suddenly feel a low coming

on. I like the Lemon snack bars. Of course, they don't compare to a

Snickers candy bar, (sigh) but they'll do. And sometimes when I am running

late for an appointment and don't have time to fix lunch, one of the drinks

really helps. But unlike my dear deseased mother-in-law and Carnation

Slender, you drink them in place of eating, NOT along with. (We had to

explain that to her years ago, when we found her using it as one would use a

glass of milk with dinner.)Elise

Glucerna has carbs that turn to glucose slower.

Hi Sunny,

Sometimes I keep the Glucerna bars with me so that when I out shopping

longer than normal, I'll have something with me that I can eat. I like to eat

small meals every 4 to 5 hours.

I didn't think they went with a meal. Guess it might have sounded that way. I

was thinking maybe they would be used as the snack, but they are higher in carbs

than the snack would be. I've never been able to handle something like that for

a full meal (though maybe I could now cause since last spring my appetite has

been much lower than it used to be). I just wondered how they worked and if

they were any good.

Many years ago there was a product on the market

similar to slim fast called slender. The directions on

the can actually said for weight gain, drink with

meal. For weight reduction, drink in place of meal. I

come from a family full of compulsive

over-eaters/dieters. I can't even count the strange

weight loss products that passed through our various

homes over the past 45 years. Some are down right

comical.
