Guest guest
Hi, Not sure about the tests you had taken for your child. My son was diagnosed with crohn's in April and he had to have an Endoscopic procedure as well as a colonoscopy with biopsies to determine whether he had crohn's or not. We actually saw the pictures from the Endoscope of the hundreds of ulcers in his stomach. His blood work was pretty normal except for low iron which meant he was probably bleeding and low protein which meant he had absorption problems. They took stool samples to test for parasites but we were told the only way to get a definitive diagnosis was with the scopy procedures. We had every test under the sun done on him while he was in the hospital for 8 days -- cat scan, upper IG series but never heard of a strep test for crohn's. We have one of the best GI guys in the country here and I have seen all of my son's lab work results and procedure results and never saw anything about a strep test. If your child does end up with Ulcerated Colitis or Crohn's just let me know and I will tell you what all we have done and been through.
