Elicia,

Mark is right about some of the pain meds causing itching. A

friend of my daughter's who was taking oxycontin for CP had an

espisode where he started itching so bad that he broke the skin

and was bleeding badly in several places and didn't even realize

it. I don't take oxycontin, but I had noticed that when I take

oxycodone I would itch, especially around the ankles, lower legs

and feet! It wasn't anything as bad as my daughter's friend, but it

does make me want to itch a lot. Fortunately the percocet

doesn't seem to affect me that way.

Unfortunately I don't know what to suggest to stop the itching,

maybe someone else will. I don't know if Caladryl or one of the

other anti-itch preparations would help for this or not.

With hope and prayers,

Heidi in SC
