Guest guest
Hi , The beginning of this diet was very overwhelming for me. I spent all day cooking and luckily, for me, I was only working 2 to 3 days a week outside the home. My friends would call to chat and ask what I was doing and the answer was always: cooking. It was heartbreaking when I would spend money on ingredients and try something that turned out awful. It helped me to buy Lucy's cookbook and to explore and try new recipes from the various sources on the internet. It would help if you could list exactly what your family is eating because some of us have found cheaper ways to get the ingredients. Also: is your whole family doing this at home? The only way this worked for us was if we all did it when we were around my daughter. It is very frustrating for her to see others in the family eat illegals. We got boxes and cleared out every illegal from our kitchen, gave some away and stored the stuff we could in tight bins in the basement. Our kids ate SCD for survival:) It was amazing when, after a month or two, the kids would eat SCD yogurt with applesauce and honey and love it. With time, we found the things that everybody would eat and our cooking did become more efficient. My husband used to cook in restaurants and cooking was one of our major activities together. SCD definitely changed that and I know he misses it, still. Hope this helps. Good luck.
