Diane,

When my daughter started keto, she was averaging only about 1 seizure

a week as well, although she went some weeks with several seizures

and some with none. We wanted to try keto b/c we felt it was a way

to try to get her off of the AEDs and try to get complete control.

Although we have recently had to wean from the diet b/c of metabolic

acidosis problems, I have no regrets about trying keto and would do

it again without hesitation. It is not easy. And it is time

consuming. But if it DOES work for your child, it can be a real

miracle. And for many kids, even if it does not bring total seizure

control, the children are much more alert and active.

I highly recommend that you give keto a try. That said, it is

important to have the support of a good keto center and it is

important to be in touch with others who are familiar with the diet,

like the parents here.

Good luck and keep us posted on your decision and how things go!
