Guest guest
Hi all- I've read the postings for the " picky eater " and I have tried all of those things for my daughter. She is seemingly more selective now. What she eats: hot dogs, chicken strips, " candies " with honey and nut butter. I'm wondering if the honey is bothering her? I can't get her to eat any fruit because it all has to be cooked and she doesn't like the texture. I've tried to freeze it into popsicles-she won't do that either. I don't know if it's an SI thing, or if we've got a power struggle going on (she's 5). She seems to be over the fact that she cant' eat chocolate and she was gfcf for three years so she knows what it's like to be " restricted " . I looked at the " feeding a picky eater " article on pecanbread, and tried it, but that didn't seem to work either. I don't know if she's having a reaction to something? I've stopped giving her the candies. We are brushing her mouth before every meal to see if it's a texture thing. In the meantime I am freaking out because she's not eating. I know fruit leather is advanced, but could I try it-- the fruit is cooked? Or should I wait. We're scd two months, but it seems we are going really slowly-like I stated before, we have to cook all the fruit still. Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated. -
Guest guest
Hi , I had trouble with too much honey, I would try enzymes and something that helps kill the yeast like garlic, oregano, etc. I think she probably has legitimate complaints and is doing her best. I believe the pickiness is a sign that something else may be bothering her. My son would not eat cooked fruit either. I would check out Houston Nutraceuticals for enzymes. Fruit and especially vegetables were the most difficult for my son to digest, he would try something like broccoli and I'd be so excited that he tried it and then he'd be up all night and restless. I think a lot of kids on the spectrum have a lot of difficulty with phenols and a good enzymes like No Fenol might help her to eat a larger variety of foods.
