Guest guest Posted April 9, 2002 Report Share Posted April 9, 2002 , Initially, before they partially drained and biopsied the largest pseudocyst, it could not only be felt, but also seen quite visibly. It was the size of a small grapefruit, the surgeon said. But it showed up overnight, one day it wasn't there, the next day it was. After drainage, it was " felt " , but not nearly as visible. Mine is located in the abdomen just above and to the left of my navel, and yes, that's where it hurts. Guest guest Posted April 9, 2002 Report Share Posted April 9, 2002 , In the meantime, I suggest you stay on real low fat foods, drink Poncho (rhymes with mucho) quantities of water....i.e; lots and lots of water, and take it easy. My pseudocysts were seen as a blurred mass on an ultrasound, then the ct-scan showed them much more clearly. Sounds like yours would be visible, too. It should also show on an MRI scan. I have to have another scan in three months, and am wondering if they could do an MRI instead of the ct-scan, since the last ct-scan caused an acute attack. I had four others done earlier in the year without incident, but that last one was a killer. Good luck on the 18th, and let us know how it goes, and what she says.
