Guest guest
Amee, I know it's been a while since you posted, but I wanted to wait until my son had experienced his first week in the band. Fortunately, he has done tremendously well. He adjust well to wearing it and to sleeping. He was diagnosed with severe plagio and we have seen progress already!! It is amazing to see how quickly it can happen. He started at 4 1/2 months. Your son is still in the range for a lot of head growth. It is absolutely worth it. Try to send an appeal to your insurance if that would help you to get the band. It is great that your friend/PT is helping you with the torticollis. We just started seeing a PT as well, Sam is getting used to the stretches, but still doesn't enjoy them! Just wanted to pass on a little encouragement. We made it through the first week, surprisingly well. Thanks also to everyone who posts such helpful information. I don't have time to read all the messages fast enough! He has had it since birth, but his physician said that his flat spot would get better when he started to roll over. The spot has gradually gotten worse. I didn't accept that answer. 3 months ago I went around my doctor to a Peds PT, who also happens to be a personal friend, for help. My son was also suffering from tort, but thankfully through many different stretching exercises his tort is much better. I took him to an Orthotics Center for a scan. My son's cranial scan measures 6.9 mm. He is a candidate for the cranial band. Is there anyone who can give me some advise positive/negative from a parent that is going through the process or has gone through the process? My husband and I are trying to decided upon the next step. Our insurance does not cover the band unless his measure was greater than 10mm. Money really isn't the issue when it comes to his health, but at the same time is. We'll take whatever step is necessary. We would just like some input.A very appreciative mom and son,Amee & Riley The fish are biting. Get more visitors on your site using Search Marketing. Guest guest
As I mentioned the Night Form mattress practically positions the baby for you so you don't have to worry about how far a rolled up blanket or towel is. The mattress is the positioner and the baby won't work their way down it. Obviously you'd still have use rolled up items for car seat time, etc. I use a sock filled with rice and place it behind her right shoulder to keep her off that side. > This topic is new to me, but my son of almost 7 months has significant > plagiocephaly. Guest guest
Amee, What were your son's measurements? If it is significant I would think it would be great than 10mm? My son started his band at 7 1/2 months and I am already seeing a lot of positive results. Good luck.
