Guest guest
Question for any/all the women.... have you or are you bothered by UTI's? As a diabetic I know I am more prone to them, however, I have been getting them more frequently. I am wondering if anyone has any information as to why, how, etc.. I am wondering if since my diet is so minimal since my bypass and the fact that we have eliminated things such as fiber, etc. at this point may cause an increase of the symptoms. I did call my Dr. this morning and they started me on Cipro (antibiotic). I have to crush it and take it with a spoon of applesauce. OH MY GOD!!!! That is the most horid thing I have ever tasted. Anyway, aside from this, I am doing great. Any feedback to this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Audrey
Guest guest
For what it's worth, I work in a pharmacy and a lot of females of all ages are prone to having UTI's. Unfortunately, in most cases especially those of children, it has a great deal to do with the way we're constructed. E coli has a much greater chance of entering the urethra of the female of our species than the urethra of males. I know a lot of women and girls who are on daily Septra (either suspension or tablet) as a prophylactic. I took care of a gastric bypass patient just yesterday suffering from a UTI. She was put on a round of Septra susprension (4 teaspoonsful twice daily) for 10 days. She was also given Pyridium 200 MG three times a day to control the spasms and pain upon urination. These come in tablet form so I'm assuming she would have to crush these. le > > Question for any/all the women.... have you or are you bothered by > UTI's? Guest guest
I have not experienced one myself. I hear they are painful. " O. " wrote: In the 2 years since surgery I have had one. I also think that I got it because I do not drink enough. My dr gave me an antibiotic (in capsule form, they dissolve quicker that a tablet) and it was gone within a few days. I have upped my fluids since then so hopefully it WILL not come back!! HUGS!!! PS: Bennfiber is a great source of fiber, there is no taste and you can add it to anything. > > Question for any/all the women.... have you or are you bothered by > UTI's?
