Caring and Sharing is very important for patients and families who suffer from this chronic condition. This is why I turn to web sites such as the following three. Caring and sharing: http://www.pancassociation.org www.top5plus5.com Research and new findings: www.joplink.net Feel free to share any information you have with this web site as there good science to show that a chronic subclinical pancreatitis is related to the development of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Some of us in the understandable and necessary search for cures and high tech solutions to this and other chronic diseases, can overlook the conservative measures that can often be taken to improve the quality of life for people suffering chronic disease. We live in an increasingly high tech world which is great because modern medicine can and will produce some remarkable treatments. The pressure from us all to achieve better results of treatment must continue, I have noticed many times that because we expect to cure everything we suffer from. In the process we overlook what we can do here and now for people and so diseases that are of a chronic nature are pushed aside as hopeless when there is very often much that can be achieved to alleviate the symptons and enhance the quality of life even when there may be no cure. The apathy of some doctors and other health professionals when faced with chronic illness is sometimes a problem in better management for the patient. This is true of Chronic Pancreatitis, if anyone would like to be reminded of the selfhelp measures that can be taken to alleviate some of the symptons just email me at crispin@... and I will try to assist. We must keep up the pressure for research of the cause and improved treatment of this and other diseases.
