Guest guest
I'm just getting started with spinning, I still have some merino/silk blend. I can't remember where I got it, but I ordered it. I want to buy land and raise some sheep, I think it would be an incredible experience for my girls, I used to spend summers on my grandparents' farms. I still use the drop spindle that's getting old for me, I really, really want hubby to fix my spinning wheel. I might even have to get out his tools and to some woodworking to get my baby going, lol. My girls love to stand and pump it, I can imagine some fun memories being created while we spin & pump. My granny left some unfinished quilts when she died. The story was she had belonged to a quilting bee where they all worked on these quilts and took turns keeping the completed quilts. There are 2 starburst quilts with pieces about 1 " at largest part and stitching so tiny you can't even see it when you try to pull the seams. They were very much artisans. So far I've made each daughter 45x60 quilts when they were all babies. I have embroidered on the back their names, the dates I made them, and " MWML " . I tell them it means, " Made With Mommy's Love " so when they wrap in the quilt they have mommy love all around them. My eldest in particular loves to wrap up in it and have the embroidered part where she can look at it as she goes off to sleep. I also have a quilt I made for my BIL for a wedding gift, still working on it, they've been married 4 yrs <g> I crocheted some stuff, I made a purse and scarf for my 7 yr old niece, same for my eldest daughter with a smaller purse for her American Girl dolls. I love heirloom sewing but not a lot of time for it, I always go overboard with it.. Debi
