I have been reading the posts, checking out the websites listed and trying to get a grasp on things. I was diagnosed Dec. 22 with Type 2 diabetes. My elevated levels were found when my regular Dr. requested blood tests because I had inner/middle ear infection, bronchitis and sinusitus. Glucose level was one of the tests in the panel. I was at 256. I met with a Endocrinologist and he got me started testing twice a day. I am taking Metformin twice a day as well. I am going to meet with a dietician as soon as they can get an appointment for me. Been watching my carbs, eating much better, losing weight and taking things day by day. My numbers are significantly better! averaging about 125 in the mornings and 135 in the evenings...want them lower and they will get there! Little bit about me: My first name is Shara. I am 34, married to a wonderful man that is helping me so much with all this. I teach 4th/5th grade on an Indian Reservation. (LOVE my job) We haven't been blessed with children yet, but knowing what I know now, there are reasons why we haven't conceived yet (6 years trying). The Lord will bless! I enjoy cross stitching, stamping cards and reading. I read alot! I will post when I can and I enjoy reading all the posts...lots of information.
