Guest guest
, Thanks for responding! To answer your question, we check Langan's blood ketones (BHB) pretty regularly and she has remained in ketosis so far. I don't know if she'll come out as her body adjusts to the 2:1 ratio or not, but as we are coming off of keto she will eventually be out of ketosis. We are doing the wean slowly, just like with the meds, so we don't put too much pressure on her little body. We could probably lower calories now without much problem. Langan is getting so much food on this lower ratio that she is never hungry any more, something I never thought I would see happen on keto! But since we're coming off the diet for medical reasons, we'll keep calories where we are and see how things go. I am sad to come off keto but the acidosis with her was just too dangerous and uncontrollable. I hate to go back to the meds, but at least for now it is our only choice. We're just hoping to keep the meds to a minimum, and to see how she does on the specific carb diet once we get completely off keto. I hope all goes well with ! You are right- this diet is art and not science. But the people in this group are real life savewrs. We would have never made it these past 8 months without them. Take care! > Hello all.
