Nails that crack, peel and chip easily mean you need more protein and minerals in your diet. Nails that are very bendable could be a sign of rheumatoid arthritis. ____ Thanks for that info. I was checked for RA and do not have that. I have been homebound disabled since 1999. Six some months ago I realized I was having hand tetany/hand spasms. I started taking magnesium, calcium and vitamin D tablets. I also take a one a day vitamin. I also have hair problem. My hair is not as strong as it used to be. I was sooooo nice about three years ago. Question: What about salads? By not driving for over four years, my choice of fresh veggies has been severely limited. My 2004 New Years resolution is to change most of this. In fact I already changed my budget to include taxi fare to the GOOD stores :-D. A nearby local store has left much to be desired. Caro. Guest guest
My finger nails are very soft and peel all the time. I have to keep them short to prevent any problems. I too was checked for RA, and don't have it (although I was misdiagnosed with it in England). I just started taking liquid Centrum, which I put in a glass of OJ, and it's not bad tasting. I can't stand taking more pills than I have to. You should check into a fruit and veg delivery. We have a local company here that delivers fresh fruit and veg directly to your home. It's all organic, and a friend of mine who gets it says it's the best fruit they've ever had. I think they get a delivery every 2 weeks. They get whatever is in season. It's very reasonably priced too. I think my friend pays around $35.00. You can just search " fresh fruit and veg delivery " and look for your state. Some of our local grocery stores deliver too. But, if you're gonna get it delivered, I would go with a specialty shop that just does produce. You'd get the best stuff. And, the organic places have really good tasting stuff. I grew up at the beach in LA, and we had the best fruit. Here in Seattle, it's not too good. My kids hardly eat it at all. I have to buy them those organic fruit rolls, which are 100% fruit, to get them to eat fruit. Thanks for the reminder, cause I was gonna sign up for that delivery service. Guest guest
Caro, Can you grow your own vegetables at all? A good store need not be out of reach if you can avoid that altogether and grow them yourself if possible. Jill
