Guest guest Posted August 19, 2004 Report Share Posted August 19, 2004 hi , have just joined support group. my name is andrea my husband is allan. we are parents to matthew who is 17 years old. matthew has now been on the keto diet in melbourne for about 10 months. we have been trying to get him onto the diet since he was three but were always talked out of it by doctors in qld.matthew was weaned off all medication, through another program when he was 6, this took 18 months. he was much better without the meds as he was having rectal valium every 3 days to stop seizures. he has never needed valium since beeing off medication.the keto diet is working well, last month we had 15 days without seizures.matthew was fine at 6 months then had a vaccine reaction and everything went downhill from there. he is mobile, although a bit wobbly. he has the brain age of a 2 yr old and does not speak. he seems to be thriving on the diet, before starting he used to eat more than us and never grow or put on weight. he has now grown a few cms and put on a few kilos.we still have unanswered questions though so if anyone is in a similar situation it would be nice to get in touch. andrea Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
