Guest guest
thanks for the recipe but i was also wondering: maddux is not on the SCDiet after being on keto. i am trying it before we go keto so i do not have to " watch " the fats and things like that right. nothing has to be measured? i just give her any amount of the permitted foods and i am okay, right? and what do you do to supplement for the lack of calcium? maddux loves milk and since i cant use the normal processed yogurt, cottage cheese in place what are good ways to replace the calcium. will the homemade yogurt and dry curd cottage cheese be enough? maddux is 2 1/2yo. do you know where to get dry curd? can i find the active bateria commerical yogurt and dry curd in a regular grocery store or do i need to go to a specialty store? sorry for all the questions but i am not used to all this! it will be a good preparation for the keto! you have been a great help! jaime
Guest guest
, For those on the diet they need to supplement the diet with adequate calcium. Our 9 year old daughter takes 800mg of calcium a day. I would expect for those who are not on the diet that they can get adequate calcium through the various dairy foods, but I'm not an expert in this area. No, on the SCDiet you do not need to measure food. Another source of calcium would be aged cheese (aged over 3 months). But, I would expect you could give a lot of calcium to Maddux via the lactose free yoghurt. I notice recently here in Australia that there is a lactose free yoghurt in the grocery store. I wonder if there are any in the U.S. It might be worth contacting a major quality company and asking them. You may want to join the SCDiet list group. This group is listed in the keto archives. The group should also be listed in the Breaking the Barrier (SCD book). They could answer the questions regarding where to fine various products such as dry curd. I've been living away from the U.S. (travel to the U.S. every other year) long enough that I don't know where to find everything. A GOOGLE search may help also, but I would join the group.
