Guest guest
Crystal, Do you know where you are talking him for PT? For the first 5 months my daughter received therapy, we took her to Manchester to Elliot Hospital Rehabilitation clinic. They have a PEDIATRIC physical therapist named, Jill Mack, who knows ALOT about torticollis. We have seen 6 PT's over the course of Peyton's treatment, and by far, Jill has been the best. She made so much progress with her. I highly recommend her. Our pediatrician is through Dart Hitchcock Manchester, and she is the one who gave us the referral to Jill Mack. If you do end up getting a script for a helmet, just make sure you interview the place really well.. and most importantly as everyone else has said on this board, make sure you find out how many kids the orthotist has banded... Cranial Tech does hundreds of children a year... and only children.. some of the places I called locally said they only banded a dozen or so kids a year. The more experienced, the better the outcome. We have had several issues come up with the helmet- skin issues, rash, and a large bump on the top of her head from the helmet. Not only do you want an experienced orthotist who can fit and adjust the helmet correctly, but also to deal with the other problems that crop up. If Dr. Stotland doesn't give you a script and you think you want a second opinion, let me know, and I can give you the numbers of the two doctors down at Yale if you'd like. Oh... and you should make that appointment with Dr. Stotland to get in ASAP. Those plagio clinics that he holds, are booked well in advanced.. we had to wait over two months. So it might help to get your name in right away (and make sure you tell them how old your child is, because he thinks banding works best between 4-7 months). You can always cancel if the repo works ) Hope all that helps! Best wishes to you ) Colleen Re: two_soulmates > >> > I noticed in your reply to someone else you stated you traveled to > CT> > from NH. Are there any places in NH to get a helmet/band?
