Guest guest
Heck Lin, Our schools around here usually get about 10 or so snow days every year! 4 inches of snow around here isn't nothing. That's just a few flurries for us. If you really want some snow down there, maybe some of us 'northerners' could figure out a way to send you guys some! What do you think, Ginny? From the sounds of it, you get MORE tahn enough to share! LOL You can keep your rain though, Carla. I think I would rather have the snow. You don't get quite as wet from it! LOL Hugs, Faith Carla I am the same way, because we don't get much snow on the west side of >the Cascade mountain range. I love to watch it snow and drink so hot cocoa, >it is so peaceful, I know all you Northeasterners get sick and tired of snow > but we don't get enough to get sick of it, now we do get cold and rain, and >rain, and more rain etc etc. >My family was living near Houston in the early 70's when they got 4 inches >of snow, never seen a whole city just come to a stand still. That was >probably the only snow day my high school ever had Rock, jazz, country, soul more. Find the music you love on MSN Music!

Guest guest
Faith, I know what you mean because I lived in Michigan for a couple of years and the only time I remember them shutting down the schools was for a 2 day blizzard, I would walk to school with 6 foot snow drifts around. When we lived in League City, which was about 20 miles south of Houston, they don't have snowplows or anything down there. I live in Oregon now. Our schools get shut down around here for 5 or 6 inches of snow because we get the wet stuff that sticks to everything, a lot of times we will get freezing rain then snow which means that underneath the snow is a nice layer of ice. Plus around here there a quite a lot of rather large hills that the buses have to go on. We almost hardly ever get snow before the end of December. Anyway enough rambling on about the weather. How are you feeling? Lin

Guest guest
Lin, One more ramble about the weather and then I'm done with it too. That's how it is here in my part of PA. We get snow, then freezing rain and/or ice, then more snow; and we have a lot of big hills here too. School gets cancelled only for the safty of the kids. Nothing else ever shuts down. And we have that white stuff in our forecast for tonight already! It won't stick, but that's not the point. lol As for how I'm feeling..........depends of what minute of the day you ask. I still do not have a compatent dr that knows what they're doing when it comes to rsd. Which simply means that I still have no meds to help me with all of the symptoms that this crap throws at you every day. I take Tylenol, but no a lot of it because I know that it's bad for your liver. I usually only take 1 extra stength one around 4 or 5 in the afternoon and then another one before I turn in for the night. Needless to say, it doesn't help much, but it helps enough for now. I have been trying to find a new dr, but I'm in a very rural area, and all of the ones I can find are two far away for me to drive to get to them. Oh well, that's part of life I guess. I just go day to day doing as much as I can on any givin day. I refuse to let this monster totally take over my life. I have a grandson to watch grow up, a son to help teach how to be a father and a daughter who still is trying to figure her life out. They may be grown now, but they still need me and I still need them. Plus my husband would be lost without me. He has NO IDEA what a stove is for or how to run a sweeper or a washer and dryer. LOL Anyway, enough about me, although I do thank you for asking. How about you? How are you feeling? Warm hugs, Faith Faith, >I know what you mean because I lived in Michigan for a couple of years and >the only time I remember them shutting down the schools was for a 2 day >blizzard, I would walk to school with 6 foot snow drifts around. >When we lived in League City, which was about 20 miles south of Houston, >they don't have snowplows or anything down there. >I live in Oregon now.
