Can Plagiocephaly cause Craniosynostosis?

Or does it only work the other way around? My 8 month old daughter has

the classic signs of plagiocephaly (flat on one side, ear more forward

on that side, head tilt), but our x-ray just came back and it looks

like her rear sutures are fusing early. Could it just be a

coincidence? When are these sutures supposed to close? Could it be

normal at 8 months?

Any insight ya'll can give would be great. My doc doesn't want to

speculate until I see a specialist, but I'm dying for any info.
