Guest guest
Hello everyone, I had my surgery on 4/17. I went back to my hotel on 4/18 and drove half way home on 4/19. On 4/20 after another four hours I got home at 10:30 am Indiana time. I had only one shot of demerol in the hospital. Walked around every hour and felt pretty well, all things considered. No where near the amount of discomfort I expected. my only pain was in my left shoulder, I guess it concerns a nerve in your stomach. I have had diarrhea for a few days but no big deal. I am eating yogurt mixed with whey, which makes it really sweet and I like it better than plain yogurt. I had broth and jello too. I am starting the creatine and glutamine today. I had to give myself injections of Lovenox in the tummy to ward off any blood clots, as I have a clotting disorder. Today I started my coumadin, a thinner, and stopped the Lovenox. I feel so great, it is hard to believe I just had surgery. Much less discomfort than my gall bladder removal!!! I was saddened and scared to hear about at clinic, 4/15. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. The carafate is not bad at all, the citrucel I mix the sugar free orange flavored with 2 oz of water and it goes down easy. I am thrilled to be on the other side and will gladly answer any preop queries, you need to use my name in the re box, so I will be sure to see it. A big hug to all my littermates, Sue in Veazie, Maine, Sue in MI, Jess, Cheryl, and Marcia. Does any one have the web site address for post-ops? I guessed I missed this somewhere along the way. Joy and peace to you all, nne in Indiana snowcat5@... phone anytime > ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

Guest guest
nne, Welcome back!! It's good to hear from you, and I'm glad everything went well. I have to admit, I was a little worried for you due to the clotting disorder. It's sounds like everything has been almost a breeze for you! Keep us posted on how things go, what foods you find you can/cannot tolerate, etc. Congrats on being " on the other side. " It was nice meeting you at clinic on 4/15. BTW, did anyone see Carnie today on Good Morning America? I have the day off for Good Friday and I watched it. She looks amazing and is SO full of energy. Did she have the open Roux-N-Y or was hers lap? Guest guest
Carnie had the laparascopic RNY. My boss gave me her latest People magazine, and it had an interview with her. Yes, she does look terrific. Her life certainly has changed in the last year. I think it's great that she's getting what she wants. No doubt her wedding will be beautiful. fg At 12:36 PM 04/21/2000 -0400, you wrote: >nne, > >Welcome back!! It's good to hear from you, and I'm glad everything went well. Guest guest
Carnie looked beautiful but I did notice that her hair was looking a bit thin. But it wasn't that bad. I could live with that if the weight came off. Jackie in DE Pre-op
