Guest guest
I'm supposed to eat every four hours, so the last hour is liquid loading before the next meal. I think you are right. It would seem that people should have some kind of standard to work by when you have the same procedure done. But I suppose it has to vary by individual, but there should be a base starting point. Maybe the doctors can't all agree. They generally go by their personal experience, so I guess you want to go with the dr with the most surgical experience. You have to trust your dr. --- Mike wrote: > Wow 2-3 hours? That's a long time! When do you ever > drink if you have > three meals and maybe a snack? Guest guest
My doctor told me if I could get all my needed protein a day from food I didnt have to do the shakes. I found there was no way possible I could do it without the shakes. I usually do my shakes for breakfast in the morning. I also find that I am full for hours after that shake. More often then not I forget to eat lunch. I also dont drink for about 45 minutes or so after I eat but I do tend to water load all day long. It helps keep my portion size under control. Im 30 pounds from goal and my last labs where great. Marilynn > > I don't believe that's correct. I was told you would NOT fill up on > liquid but would absorb the calories. Guest guest
It is very strange. I would think it would greatly throw off the statistics about success rates when the " rules " vary so greatly. in Virginia 299/218/150 Lap RNY: 5/3/06 Re: Cereal with Milk Wow 2-3 hours? That's a long time! When do you ever drink if you have three meals and maybe a snack? I was told not to drink 15 minutes before, during or 45 minutes after. I'd never get in 80+oz of liquid with that 2-3 hr schedule. Isn't it strange how there's no standard practice to this and many other aspects of WLS? Guest guest
I was told cereal with milk was fine as long as it was only enough milk to make the cereal moist. My sugar consumption per meal is limited to 6 grams or less. 2 grams or less seems too strict because with that you can't even have a piece of fruit. cereal with milk i was told not to drink 5 min. before or 30 min. after. i think the cereal with milk does not apply to the don't drink while you eat rule. at least that was my assumption. anyone on 2 grams or less of suger per meal? pam

Guest guest
I use my shakes for breakfast as well. That usually tides me over till my break time when I have my vitamins as my " snack " . LOL! Then that will last me till my yogurt & cheese at lunch. W 380/295/160 Wild Child wrote: > My doctor told me if I could get all my needed protein a day from food I > didnt have to do the shakes.
