Guest guest
Dear Sue glad to hear you are doing well. I have been worrying about how much time to book the hotel for and now you have reassured me that it is best to stay a few days longer if I can, so I will. Also, that meds chart , would ou be able to send it to me or Atkinson if you are reading, is that ok?? Thanks, Gloria fromColorado--May 24, getting closer... Guest guest
So glad to hear you're doing well! I've been researching the wls and particularly the mgb for 5 months now . I am self-pay and have a surgery date of 4/25 - I hope! Debbie e-mailed me that my packet was fine but that my patient info didn't transfer from Dr. R's pc to hers.- and that my date was contingent on her receiving it. I resubmitted it last Wed. but because of the holiday, I guess I won't know if it went through until Mon. - just a little extra to be a little worried about! I am very excited and ready. I've been eagerly reading the posts on this list for about 3 wks now and I thank everyone for the helpful info - good and bad. I am especially grateful to the 10 or so postops who answered my privately e-mailed ?s. Would you also send me a copy of the supplement chart please? I'd appreciate it. Peggy in NC - really Margaret but everyone calls me Peggy (meema44@...)

Guest guest
Hey everyone! I am home & very happy to be here! It was great to meet everyone at clinic. I have madealot of new friends. Thanks to , Paige, Ellen & Ginny for answering all my questions there. To my MGB mates, (nne, Sue, Marcia, And Jess) keep in touch! As for new faces, e, , , Ann, ...it was great to meet you. Sorry if I missed anyone! There was so much enthusiasm, excitement & curiousity filling the clinic room, it was hard to keep track of everyone's name! I learned alot there! As for my MGB surgery, yes I was very nervous, but the nursing staff was great! They were very pleasant & accomodating. I don't remember a thing from recovery. I only remember waking up in my room with my husband there. So I guess that means the anesthesiologist & nurse did their job well~! When I awoke I was in some discomfort, but not real bad. I asked for some pain med & they gave me a shot of demerol in the side. I didn't get a pain pump. But, I guess I really didn't need it. All total, I only had 3 shots between Mon & Tues AM & have had no need to take pain meds since. I rested at the hotel room on Tues. & flew home Wed AM. Dr. R was not too thrilled with this, so I might suggest you stay a bit longer. I would have stayed if I was still really uncomfortable, but I wasn't. Just remember, things can happen a few days later, so take heed. I consider myself fortunate that all went well. I trust Dr. R and his skill, but sometimes your body does not cooperate. I am adjusting to all the meds & supplements......thanks to Sharon Atkinson :-) I am following her chart, which helps me alot!!!! Thanks Sharon! I am having/desiring some foods as my family eats , but have been able to brush it off within minutes instead of dwelling over it. I have been eating 4oz. of yogurt in the AM, a V-8 and some saltines for lunch & then chicken broth for supper. In between I eat my Tums, which is like a snack for me right now (LOL) & 4oz. of OJ in the afternoon (To which I add the citrucel and creatine). I am findin myself satisfied with this amount of food/liquid. It doesn't seem like enough, but right now, that's all my new tummy seems to be able to handle. Guest guest
Sue, Thanks for the great update on how you're doing. I'm so glad things are going well for you post-op. I am going to appreciate all these " tips " when it comes my turn in May! BTW, if it is not too much trouble, I would also love to have a copy of that supplement chart. E-mail it to me privately as an attachment, if you can (e-mail address listed below). When are you going to dare to weigh yourself for the first time? I will be interested to hear about how/if your cravings and tastes for food change.
