Guest guest
Just wondering if any other kiddos lose weight the first couple months on SCD? DD lost 4 zo the first month. SHe had been doing great and then she vomited tonight. THe only thing that was different - I didn't give her enzymes with dinner and we ventured from all our cooked foods to give her some raw spinach and quite a bit of raw mangos. I guess it wasn't digesting because when we gave her about 4 oz of yoghurt a hour later it all came shooting up. Any thoughts?

Guest guest
Jim, Wow, that is a great gain! Can I ask if your dd was underweight before and did she have overwhelming bacteria or yeast in her gut that you know of? Thanks, Moneca > Kali gained 2 lbs. so far and an inch and she's been on it for only 2 weeks > but, she's doing well. > Weight loss on SCD? > > > > Just wondering if any other kiddos lose weight the first couple months > > on SCD? Guest guest
Moneca, I made a mistake in typing. My daughter has gained 2 lbs. & an inch but, not in 2 weeks. It has been 5 weeks since we've been on the diet. Kali was eating so much non-nutritious foods that she couldn't use for growing. I feel better about her overall health now. Kali may have a yeast overgrowth. I am not sure. We have to wait until Oct. 6 to see her DAN! Dr. for the first time. Do regular pediatricians test for the yeast? I'm not sure if I want to take her back to him because I've had to ask a few times to get some tests and to see the allergist and such. I'm not too sure if he actually knows what he's doing! Kali was given her immunizations ( alot of them at once) when she had been on an antibiotic for ear infections. She didn't have a fever that day but, it made her have a high one that night. When a child is sick they're defenses are down and they should not be given immunizations! I did not know this and frankly I feel her Dr. must have known! Kali was never underweight I don't believe. She was born 9lbs. 4 oz. and I breastfed her every 1 & a half hours starting 12 hours after she was born for 11 months. She quit when she wasn't getting enough for me. I didn't dry up after that for almost a year and a half. I was pumping to freeze it also. I think my breastmilk may have been contaminated also. I have dental amalgams. Also, when I was pregnant I was given food checks from WIC which thought it to be a good practice to eat a lot of tuna fish. They now do not give tuna fish to prgnant of breatsfeeding moms! Kali may have a yeast issue due to being on so many antibiotics and having so many infections. She is scheduled for sinus surgery on the 14 of July. She has had tubes put in both ears and her tonsils & adenoids taken out last Aug. Kali looks a little thin due to the fact that she is as tall as most 8-9 yo. She is 50 lbs.& 49 " tall. Kali does have gut issues and food issues. We don't know what they are yet!
