Guest guest
Hi, Mark this is I don't mind if you post my story on top5 plus 5. I appreciate the promptness of your response. What is funny is I did not include the whole story there was information that I left out. I live in Joliet Illinois. Joliet doctors where the ones that misdiagnosed me time after time and put me through 3 years of agonizing hell. One Joliet doctor had enough common senses to refer me to Rush St.Lukes Presbyterian in Chicago. The Rush hospital is the hospital that diagnosed pancreatitis. I was officially diagnosed in 2001. There is a question that I was wondering? Since I have pancreatic insufficiency is it common for me to only have hypoglycemia instead of hyperglycemia. My blood sugar is always low. My blood sugar rarely ever gets higher than 140. Five months ago my sugar dropped into the low 20's. This was a frightening experience that I never want to go through again. Fortunately, I was with my neighbor when this happened. Thank God she was diabetic and recognized the symptoms. Pancreatic insufficiency was the main reason it took so long for my sugar to rise. I ate 1lb of cheese, 2 bowls of pasta, a sandwich, and 2 large glasses of orange juice. Twenty minutes later my sugar was only 36. Through trial and error I have found many ways to combat my constant low blood sugar. I do agree with what many of the memebers say about the doctors. Many of the doctors do not give the patient enough information. Most of my endeavors with this disease were made through trial and error. My doctor did emphasize the importance of a low fat diet. The worst part of this disease is many think you have to drink alcohol to develop pancreatitis. One doctor I saw assumed that I drank because I had pancreatitis. I was furious when he made that assumption about me considering he knew nothing about me. I would like to chat with you sometime Mark. I will try to keep up-todate on the nightly chats. I did not know there was one yesterday. Take care and I will talk to you soon.
