Welcome Cindy! Tricare covered my surgery too. Is your surgeon a military doc

or were you referred out to a civilian doc? Mine was a civilian who had over

1400 surgeries under his belt. I was very fortunate from what I hear because

many people in my area are on waitlist for over 2 years. I'm not sure how I got

around the waitlist. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Cindy,

Welcome to the group. I also have Tricare. Do you have Prime or

Standard? I have Standard. And thankfully, I had no problems except

they put it in as an out-patient surgery. I called to see if I was

approved and that's when I found out about that, so they just changed

it to in-patient and I just had to wait about 3 days to find out I was

approved.

I have Tricare Prime. I had my surgery performed by a civilian surgeon that I

was referred to by Tricare/Healthnet, how about you?

Misty,

I've not made it to the point yet, but what I am hearing from my husband who

works for Navy medicine and many of his coworkers who've had plastics, it really

has to be documented as a mental/self esteem issue and cause some sort of pain

or discomfort. My girlfriend tried to have a breast reduction last year and she

was denied. I told her what I heard from others who had nose jobs and

liposuction and she went back to her PCM to get it documented as a self esteem

issue and the fact that she was having constant upper back pain and it got her

approved. She had her breasts reduced one month ago.
