Hi all,

I have been reading and responding to this list for about two weeks and I

have never told anyone where I am located. I live in Pittsburgh and am being

treated for my pancreatitis at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center,

Digestive Disorder Center. My GI is Dr. Adam Slivka, MD, PhD. Since this is a

" teaching " hospital I think their diagnoses are less than conservative and

the suggestion that I have surgery has prompted me to research this disease

and decide what path to take.

Are there any members here from Pittsburgh or environs? Has anyone heard of

Dr. Slivka?

I do not have any copies of the results of my tests that were performed and

would like to get them for my files since I notice that others on this list

have records. On my next visit, I am going to ask for copies. I think this is

a good practice and can be used for second opinions. However, I always give

new docs a letter stating they can obtain my records from other institutions

and doctors. Since I pay for all these tests, I should be able to get copies,

right?

Thanks to all who have added to my knowledge of the disease. This is a

fantastic support group.
