Guest guest
Dawn, I agree with you that the methadone is the best one for pain so far. I just had my breakthru medication changed to oxycodone, which also seems to be helping more than th percocet. However I also have to keep increasing the dosage but what can ya do. I take 90mg 3 times a day, plus a bunch of other stuff. As I said oxycodone for breakthru, trileptal, zanaflex, plaquenil for the lupus, lexapro and was also just put on the clonodin patch. If the zanaflex doesn't help my foot he will switch it to baclofen and then possibly the medication pump if the oral meds don't help. I read your post about your mobile home, how exciting!! I hope that you are able to buy the one you are in love with. It's a good idea about having it handicap accessible too. Like you, I'm facing the possibility of not being able to walk sometime in the near future, and it terrifies me as well. I'm having a hard time accepting it. But to plan ahead is necessary...like you said, can't just ignore it, you have to face reality. Anyway, sorry I'm up to 300 mails again so I know this is very late...just can't do much after work. I hope your legs are feeling better and I'll talk to you later. <hugs> Lori

Guest guest
Lin & Lori: Hi! I was wondering how much of the Methadone do you take daily? I am on 40 mgs tablets, and I take 4 to 5 daily. I agree this has helped me alot with my pain, but no matter what there are days when no matter how much medicine I take the horrible burning pain never goes away!!! Of course, I just did a stupid thing yesterday and hit my left foot into a chair. I can hardly walk today because of it. It feels like I broke my toes, they are so swollen. I also take Loracet 325 mgs for my break-thru pain for the RSD. Last week I woke up to a very swollen face and almost my eye was shut. I have been having a horrible infection in my body due to teeth problems. I have to have them out, because they have all broken off and into my gums. I am scared to death on this, because I am afraid I will get RSD in my mouth, does that sound stupid to you? Probably it is, but I am still scared. I had to have a CT scan on my face, because my doctor thought my sinus cavity was also infected. I had to have 4 shots and two heavy duty antibiotics, because I am the one that can't fight infections, I have no spleen. Which makes it harder for me to heal from surgeries and diseases. This has been a horrible year for me!!! I hope you all are having less pain tonight. Janet wrote: Lori, I am on Methadone for my long acting med and oxycodone for break through pain. Guest guest
Janet, As far as your face swelling, do you know what caused this? About a month or so ago, I woke in the middle of the night and felt slight numbness in my face, and went into the bathroom and looked into the mirrow and my entire face was completely swollen. By the morning it was not as bad but still a little swollen. I never told the doctor, but took my regular meds along with some motrin and by the next day the swelling went away. I wonder if this was from the disc in my neck, MS, or RSD? Please let me know what exactly happened to you and did you see the doctor about this. I am just curious and hope it never happens again! Take Care and LOL! Hope that your pain gets better Soon! DawnJanet Underwood wrote: Lin & Lori: Hi! I was wondering how much of the Methadone do you take daily?
