Guest guest Posted April 10, 2002 Report Share Posted April 10, 2002 Right, both parents have to be carriers to have a child with CF but Karrie and her husband don't have a child with CF (or any child). As pointed out, there is a 1 in 27 chance of someone in the general population being a carrier, but doesn't it seem like there should be greater odds in Karrie's case? There isn't of course, just like when a couple has a child with CF, each additional child still has the 1 in 4 chance of having CF but it seems like it should be greater odds.
