I have had a few dizzy spells and nearly blacked out too. I think it has

something to do with blood sugar or something, not sure though, I plan on asking

my doctor about it this week.

I had that problem a couple of weeks out of surgery and my blood pressure

was extremely low and I had to be given fluids.

Nope but I was close to doing that a few times after a month or so out.

I think it was my four week checkup with the surgeon's office where the

PA commented that my blood pressure was very low (something I've NEVER

heard before) and he asked if I'd felt light headed or faint. I replied

that as a matter of fact a few times, rising from a chair, I have had

to steady myself and I see pretty splotches dancing around. He said

that would be the low blood pressure. He immidiately un-prescribed my

blood pressure medication (oh darn) that I'd been taking for nearly a

decade.

I still, rarely, have some light headedness. I believe this is due

possibly to low blood sugar (another thing I'm not used to having

almost been diabetic). I've never fainted though.

Good Luck and check with your doctor.

It could be your blood sugar or blood pressure or dehydrated. Whatever it turns

out to be your doctor should be aware of it - please call to get it checked out.

I had problems with it and occasionally still do. Sometimes it is because I am

dehydrated and other times it is because I need to eat. So, I try hard to stick

to my schedule and be sure to get in all of my fluids, which does cut down on

the fainting/near fainting experiences.

Hi,

I thought it had to do with low blood sugar also, but my husband has

the blood sugar machine he has to use and when I was feeling very

faint, I had him test my blood and it was normal. Could it be not

enough protein or dehydration? I don't eat enough protein at all, I

just can't eat alot, and I get sooo full just taking little sips.

You might be hypoglycemic, this is when you have low blood sugar. Try

eating every 2 hours and see if this helps. I am and it showed up

about 8 weeks after surgery. If the symptoms do not go away go see

your doctor.

Hi Lori,

I'm going crazy with me always feeling dizzy. I told the nurse when I

had my first visit after my surgery which was 8/21, and she looked at

me like I had two heads. She said she never heard anyone complain

about feeling dizzy. I am always feeling dizzy unless I'm sitting down

or laying down. If I stand up for more than 1 min. in place, I have to

start looking for someplace to sit before I pass out. I just went to

see the dietian this past Thursday and told her I'm still getting dizzy

alot. She sent in a nurse and all she did was take my blood pressure

and tell me to drink more. I would love to go out and get a part time

job, but now the dizzies are stopping me from getting one. Can you

imagine me behind a register and every few seconds I would have to

say " sorry, but I have to sit for a few minutes. " I'm forcing the

water down though it bothers my stomach. It's room temp. so it's not

that that's bothering it. I just have such a hard time drinking. I

can usually get about 1 bottle down a day.

I was having the same problem, I seen my surgeon on Friday and he told me that

my situation could be because I am having a protein shake in the morning and

nothing else... I need to add in a half of an egg or something...
