Guest guest
We went with these because of the hole -- they looked to be cooler. At the time we tried them, Ian was going to the National Scout Jamboree in Virginia in the humid heat of summer (104 when we were visiting, yikes!) and we were concerned with the heat, sweating and even shorting out his aids. According to Ian, this style is cooler. He had no trouble with the heat/humidity but he did put the aids into his dry-n-store every night. We have a travel one that has the desiccating beads in it, so no electricity is needed. Great for camping! But no one ever mentioned letting low frequencies in better. Perhaps that is because that isn't a consideration for Ian -- his audiogram is flat across now. It use to be a cookie bite, with more hearing in the higher and lower frequencies, but no longer. He has opted for this style mold ever since because it is lighter and more flexible and cooler. Plus he can still get it in red-white-blue swirls. They have a lot of cutouts, so that it essentially looks like a donught. The audi said that it lets the lowest frequencies through.
