Janie,

Just a suggestion, which I am sure the urologist will tell you is that you must drink tons of water! I forgot the amount that they told me, but that will help you pass the stones. Trust me when I tell you that YOU DO NOT WANT THE SURGERY!!!!!!! Try and pass them on your own and like I said before, drink so much water you feel bloated, because that really helps you pass them. Good Luck and Hope That You are Feeling Better!

janie,

Sorry you are in so much pain...hopefully you will pass the stones soon and without surgery. I do know that now they have alot of diffent things they can do without surgery..they have a laser procedure that actually breaks up the stones so you can pass them. Hoping the new technology can help you out. Feel better soon....Hugs..Ginnyjanie wrote:

Dear janie: Hi! Is this your first time of having Kidney Stones? I am very used to having this kind of problem. I had kidney stones in 1984, 1989, and 1995. I haven't had them since 1995. I guess I must have grown out of them somehow, it got to the point that my doctor had me tested to see why I was having them every 5 years. My body was making them, they were calcium stones. I had three operations for them, I was the first to have the Lithrotripsy (sp?) in 1984 in Indianapolis. I had the another surgery in 1989 but it was called something else, I think it was called the Lithrostar, totally different then the first one. All of sudden my body stop making them, and they found out I was making them more in the winter than in the summer. I guess because of how much water and liquids were taken in the summer than winter time. I used to get the Kidney infections with blood in the urine and Bladder infections. Yes they are VERY PAINFUL. I had the surgeries that broke up the

stones and then I was able to pass them. It was not easy, in 1984 I was in the hospital for kidney stones and a week later I came out with a blood disease. I was never so shocked in my life. I guess I had the blood disease for awhile and didn't know it, the doctor told me if I would have had the surgery where they open you up I would have died on the table because of the blood disease, Thank god, they did the Lithropsey on me instead. This is how I lost my spleen, due to the blood disease. Good luck with your kidney stones, I know you will have better luck than I did. How does this affect your RSD? I didn't have RSD when I had mine. I got RSD in 1998. I was hurt on my job in 1996, and was not diagnosed with RSD until 2 years later. Needless to say, I missed the first 3 months where they could have helped me with putting this damn disease in remission. ha, fat chance in hell for that. Ha! I hope you get to feeling better soon.
