Guest guest
Amy, was my last and a blessing after trying for 9 years. So it is hard to let go of that special closeness. I miss her looking up at me and smiling. Now she grabs both my ears and puts her face and mine and says are you listening to me! Oh well there are other sweet things that replace it. It is sad when they grow up. My 13 year old still tries to cuddle with me (now that I have gained so much weight we both don't fit on the couch). He just out grew me this month. I cant believe he is 5 4' I have to wear my platform shoes to tell him I am still the boss. lol sorry rambling Trisha
Guest guest
, I'm nursing my son (8 mo. on 4/27) and I asked Dr. Rutledge about continuing to nurse after the surgery. He said I would need to wean Zachary before surgery. It's not only the meds, but with such significant weight loss, we'll be losing a lot of chemicals and other " junk " stuff stored within our bodies in our fat. They have proven that it is safe to go on a restricted diet and lose up to one pound per week when breastfeeding, but we'll be losing up to ONE POUND A DAY so it would not be good for the baby. My son is eating some solids, but still relies on me for most of his nutrition, so it's a very tough decision. I have postponed my surgery for 5 months already, but am getting antsy and am now just waiting on insurance. It breaks my heart to wean him, as this is my last child, but I have to think of my self AND my whole family. My kids really want to go to Disney World next year, and I'll have to be in pretty good shape to keep up with my three little boys! I'll be happy to discuss this more with you off list, but I can totally relate to what you're going through. Blessings, ~Amy. weight loss surgery I had a couple questions I am hoping someone can shed some light on. I heard people talking about giving blood and thought maybe this was similiar. I was reviewing another site and saw the post of a mother who was breastfeeding. In fact she breastfed her baby right before going into WLS surgery, she had a lactation consultant review her meds, etc. and came out still nursing. Now this was (and my baby is) an older baby who is eating solids and getting nutrients from others sources and nursing is less for food and more for other reasons. I was wondering if anyone had any info on this. I had previously assumed I would have to wean my baby but would prefer not to. My second question and this is a bit personal but since I have been breastfeeding my cycles are not regular, every month they come at a different time (at much as 14 days difference) with no pattern. I would prefer to have surgery when I am not having my cycle but am not sure I can predict when that is going to be. Does it make a differnce, even on how you feel, since having my baby they are heavy and painful, does anyone have any experience with this and any insight. Sorry to be so personal. Thanks. Busching Hoping to get a surgery date in May Waiting to see me doctor/self pay but need him to agree to follow up and physcial then I am sending in my package.
