Hi Dawn,

did your doctor mention torticollis (tort)? this is when the neck

muscles are shortened due to the baby being constrained in the uterus.

it is more common with twins. if the baby has tort they have limited

range of motion for the head & neck. this means they tend to favor one

side, and thus end up with plagio. Not all plagio babies have tort. If

the baby does have tort then stretches are needed (in addition to

repositioning) to help the baby get full range of motion, and thus

stay off the flat spot.

You might want to check if the doc things tort is a problem too. my

baby had brachy (flat in back) and no tort - so I'm not sure at what

age tort is actually diagnosed. maybe at this point it is something to

watch for.

It is great that your ped mentioned repo at the 2 mo visit. when we

mentioned our daughter's flat head at her 2 mo visit her ped said

" don't worry " so we didn't. by the 4 mo visit she told us " looks

pretty bad " and sent us to a specialist :-( I wish she had give us

tips on repositioning when we first asked. You should see good results

if you start repo now. If you don't see results, or not enough, you

have lots of time to band.

take care & keep us updated.
