It's probably already here somewhere....but my daughter got her (our)

first hearing aid today - BTE. The audiologist showed me how to

detach the ear mould and that the cleaning directions would be in the

book...I just looked in the book and it says " ask your hearing

professional " . After hours now...what do I do with the rubber? purple

thing with a small tube on it to clean it? Thank you!!!!!

By the " rubber? purple thing with a small tube on it " do you mean the ear

mold...the part that sits inside the ear? If you are talking about that, you

can clean it with a mild soap (we just use our hand soap) and warm water. Be

sure to rinse it well, and make sure it's completely dry before you reattach it

to the aid.

Hope that helps,

Debbie

Just a thought on cleaning ear molds ...

Just before I read this email I was reading one my sister sent me

about Peroxide. There is a huge list of things peroxide can be used

for. Makes me wonder how it would work with the ear molds. My son

has an old set he has grown out of but we just never tossed...I may

just give it a try. Has anyone tried peroxide?

What about a 50/50 mix of bleach and water and then clean well with

soap to remove the bleach residue...????

Just throwing out a couple of thoughts.
