Ok, I have a book called Celiac Disease. It's a wonderful book and I'm learning a lot but it's leaving me with more questions that answers. Maybe you guys can help.

1st.. now that I've seen the GI guy, my reg. ped. won't give me the time of day. She won't talk to me at all. From here on out am I supposed to only go through him? Even though I LOVE and trust my reg. ped. 100% and the GI guy 0%??

2nd..Cassidy broke her foot this summer in 2 spots. My GI guy said her calcium level was fine but I don't accept that. Shouldn't I ask for a Bone Density test? Do I have to right to demand one? Or shouldn't I even worry about that if they aren't?

3rd... Shouldn't they do some sort of vitamin deficiency test on her? I mean is there such a thing and if so shouldn't they do that so we know what she's lacking? Or was that part of the original round of tests? I don't see anything saying B12 or anything you guys talk about.

4th.. Shouldn't she be taking some sort of vitamin supplement to help build her back up again? She's eating crazy right now I would think I should be giving her something. I just bought her some boost and she drinks it but I don't know what is right and what is wrong. Especially with the lactose intolerant thing.

5th... her glucose was low in her original blood work yet no one's mentioned that. Is that normal? I read so much about diabetes going hand in hand with Celiac, shouldn't that be explored further? Who does this testing, my reg. ped or the GI guy? Diabetes runs in my family.

6th...Since there is a link between diabetes and Celiac, is there anything special I should be doing to protect her? I know NOTHING about diabetes but is there something I should avoid or limit to help protect her?

7th... the nutritionist said not to go on field trips to the bakery yet my parents live across the street from a field of wheat! Do I need to stay away from them forever? Is that no problem? Should I just not go down after it's been cut?

AHHH!!!! Please don't feel anyone needs to answer any of those questions.. they are just things that are keeping me awake at night and I can't get ANYONE to call me back or tell me anything!!!!!
