Guest guest
I am so upset. I got up this morning all ready to go for my 2nd photoderm and they called and cancelled my appointment because the tech was sick. They couldn't even tell me when they were able to re- schedule. Is this bad? I mean, it will be more than 4 weeks by the time I have this treatment done. Aren't you suppose to have then every 3 weeks? I just feel so let down. I want these treatments to go well. Thanks for listening. Any input would be great.
Guest guest
As far as I know, there is no set time that must be adhered to between treatments. I've heard of people going every two to two and a half weeks up to four to six weeks between treatments (generally because of a prolonged healing period). I've also heard it advised that one try to not let more than three to four weeks elapse between treatments. However, I don't recall ever hearing any solid, well- explained reason(s) why some folks advocate the 3-4 week period. Perhaps someone could offer an explanation...I'm curious myself. Bottom line: if I were you, I wouldn't sweat having to wait four or five weeks to get back in. But I can certainly understand your anxiousness to get on with attacking this disease. Perhaps you could ask your practitioner this question when you get back in. If so, let us know what he/she tells you. Good luck with your treatments. BB > I am so upset. Guest guest
Hi Goldie--I know firsthand how frustrating that is. My very first appt with Dr. Bitter was canceled because of illness. I had scheduled my first 4 treatments at three-week intervals, which meant I couldn't be placed on the short call list (either that or I'd have to reschedule the next 3). Then I had my first treatment and then they had to reschedule actual treatment number two. I was a teary mess when the first appt was canceled and the next three weeks dragged. As far as I know, and I admit I don't know much, you can have the appts more than 3 weeks apart. You just don't want to have them much sooner than that 3 week mark--my dr. says between 2 and 3 weeks. What I ended up doing, because I was in such a hurry to get this over with, is making up time by scheduling a couple closer to the 2 week point. I've learned that my face has fully recovered before that time, so I don't think it will be a problem. In any event, I don't think a 4 week interval will affect your progress whatsoever. Take care-- > I am so upset. I got up this morning all ready to go for my 2nd > photoderm and they called and cancelled my appointment because the > tech was sick. Guest guest
Don't worry. As long as they get to it within the next couple of weeks, there shouldn't be a problem. Tx 2 will likely target deeper vessels which were not targeted in tx 1. Photoderm is a long term process, and tx's do not necessarily have to occur precisely at 3 week intervals, to my knowledge. If an exra week or two elapse between tx's, this should not present a problem, in my opinion. ~Jim http://profiles.yahoo.com/kali2030 ********************************************************** I am so upset.
